A Paper Tea Party

A few days ago I returned from a trip and found that the postman had delivered a package to my front doorstep. Wondering what was in it, I quickly opened the package and found it full of wonderful paper goodies sent with love from a friend. The goodies were so gorgeous that they inspired me to have a paper tea party.

Who could resist a paper plate like this?

Or this?

Or this?

Not me!

These plates are of such nice quality I seriously thought about washing them for re-use rather that consigning them to the trash.

But wait! It gets better. In addition to beautiful plates, note the rosy napkins and the fabulous paper sleeves for the cupcakes. Aren't they simply divine?

Since this was a paper tea party, it seemed appropriate that the favors be paper too. (Well, one does like to indulge one's grandchildren.)

By the way, it is okay to use silver with paper, isn't it?

Since this was to be a simple "Yeah, school is out" event, I did not even bother to remove the crusts from the egg salad sandwiches (Made with Lemonnaise, of course.)...

and used store bought lemon curd to go with the scones.

What would a tea party be without strawberries?

Or tea, for that matter? Since it is already in the nineties here in Texas, I opted for a refreshing Lemonade Pineapple Punch rather than our usual Earl Grey.

Every thing is ready now. Time to get the grand-darlings over here so we can have a lovely visit together at our Paper (non-) Tea Party.
